We pulled into Odessa, Texas on the evening of May 29th. This is the home of the Permian Panthers. The story of this highschool football team can be found in the blockbuster film, Friday Night Lights, starring Billy Bob Thornton, and in the bestselling novel by the same title. I really enjoyed this novel while playing football in highschool, however the movie is awful. Anyway we simply stayed overnight in the Walmart parking lot.
