WELCOME TO TRANSIT ANTENNA!
TRANSIT ANTENNA is a mobile living experiment, creative workshop and educational resource comprised of various folks living and working while traveling the roads of North America. The original incarnation totaled eight creatures: Bob, Dawn, and Taylor Snead, Jamie Self, Seth Gadsden, Amy and Josef Kristofoletti, and Kentridge the dog, plus two hitchers, Steve-O and Wheat, living on a retired city transit bus converted into a veggie oil guzzling RV named Walter (RIP). The New Crew: Tom, Sam, Mateo, and Harper are in the midst of converting a cross country MCI bus to continue the adventure.
Though writers, filmmakers, painters, chefs, and musicians, these roles seldom define a collective goal. The original crew made it all the way to Mexico, Canada, and most of the US states, excluding the mid-west and including Alaska, visiting communities, sometimes collaborating on art projects and sometimes just hanging out with new friends. Because Walter was their home, the crew were free to move spontaneously, staying put for a week or shooting across the continent on a whim. The Transit Antenna project defines itself as the unfolding road carries it to new places, people, and experiences. These experiences are the pearls handed to the group along the way.
All of the exploits of Transit Antenna (past and present) are archived here. Please enjoy.
